Choosing a Turkish Bath in Antalya: 8 Questions to Ask Before You Book

Hotel hamam, tour package or independent hammam?

Many hotels on the Antalya coast have their own hamam; tour sellers sell pick-up packages to a partner hammam; an independent hammam takes bookings directly and runs its own ritual. Whichever you choose, these questions avoid surprises.

1. How does the hotel transfer work?

Share your hotel name and preferred day and confirm the pick-up time in advance. Sırma arranges transfers from hotels in and around Side.

2. What exactly is included?

Ask for kese, foam and massage durations and sauna/steam access. "Hammam program" doesn't mean the same thing everywhere.

3. What should I bring?

Some places ask you to bring a swimsuit. At Sırma, peştemal, towel and slippers are provided; there is no swimsuit rental, so bring your own.

4. Can I choose a female or male therapist?

Yes at Sırma — female or male therapists on request.

5. Couples and children?

Couples are welcome; children have no age limit and there is a dedicated kids hammam program.

6. Opening hours?

Daily 08:30–19:00 — easy to fit before or after the beach.

7. Cancellation policy?

Ask for it in writing. At Sırma: full refund if you cancel more than 72 hours before; a 20% fee is kept if you cancel within 72 hours; no refund within 24 hours.

8. Health conditions

A hamam is hot. If you are pregnant, have heart or blood-pressure conditions or are under treatment, ask your doctor first and mention it when booking.
